Some friendships are written long before we know,

Not in time, but in how they help us grow.

Ours began when our kids found the spark,

But it’s the parents whose friendship truly bloomed from the start.

There are people you meet for a breif  little while,

Who change your whole life with a warmth and a smile.

Dave, this was you, genuine and true,

You taught us that there’s nothing better in life than to just be you.

You reminded us to care, to show up, to stay.

To treasure the moments that brighten our day.

We gathered for Christmas, rang in the New Year,

With full hearts, loud laughs, and plenty of beer.

And oh, that afternoon swimming at your place,

The laughter was loud, joy filled the space.

Bernadette and I went for a quick little stroll,

Came back to find you and Harish completly out of control!

Shitfaced and smiling, two peas in a pod.

Cigars in hand, we laughed so hard.

That calm demeanor, your signature style,

Made even mischief feel warm and worthwhile.

And that last dinner, a night I’ll never forget,

We talked, we laughed, we lingered, filling up not just with food, but with memories to keep.

A perfect goodby we didn’t know took place, now etched in our hearts, not time can erase.

We didn’t kow that would be our end, but what a way to honor a friend.

Your lessons, your precese, your quiet way will echo in our hearts every day.

So here’s to Dave, who showed us what’s true, live simple, to love, to laugh, and to just be you.

We are really going to miss you, watch over us all, send us all the signs.
