Travel, That’s what 2023 has in store.

While the American traveler is keeping a close eye on economic conditions and starting to reduce the number of vacation trips they plan to take in 2023, the good news is everyone is still planning to get away. See, despite a looming global recession, the wanderlust desire is real. No matter the economic or health conditions out there in the world. People will and love to travel!

Well, before we get into that, let’s close our eyes for a minute and think to ourselves.

Why do you want to travel?

The reason why each person wishes to travel is varied and likewise, each experience had by each traveler is different than that of another. It’s for this reason, that first ask yourself what the purpose of your trip is. How long will you travel? And of course, what type of spending plan do you have in mind for your trip?  Will you travel alone?  With family, a loved one? Craving local or cultural experiences? Looking for a bustling city or need a wellness retreat? What experience do you seek?

Are you the type: Do you pick the destination and then looks for the experience?  Or know what experience you seek and then look for the destination? So many questions when choosing a destination to visit. 

Trending Destinations

No matter where you may want to visit, these destinations mentioned below will get your travel buds flowing as they have appeared multiple times in various “Trending Destinations” lists and have exceptional notoriety as top travel destinations. In no particular order, here’s a fun wishlist of destinations to visit in 2023!

Copenhagen, Denmark

Starting with the leader of architecture and design and declaring UNESCO’s World Architecture Capital in 2023 this destination is best to visit from March through August. Whether you’re strolling through the 17th-century waterfront district of Nyhavn taking in the picturesque canal-lined streets and brightly colored homes or learning about the Vikings at the National Museum, Copenhagen is an architect’s dream. No surprise the World Congress of Architects gathers here! Steeped in history and culture, from the medieval streets of the Old Town to the grand palaces of Amalienborg and Christiansburg. Visitors have plenty to see. And no worries about how to get around Copenhagen is a very bike-friendly city and easy to explore on two wheels! (Featured Imaged on blog post) 

Paris, France

We’ We’ Madam, the City of Lights. Paris, France. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Many reasons to visit from arts and architecture to food and fashion. Visit popular sites such as the Eiffel Tower, and Louvre or look for some of the lesser-known gems, the Statue of Liberty.  Paris is also famous as one of the fashion capitals of the world and is the perfect place to see the latest fashion and trends. Visitors can stroll the famous Avenue de Champs-Elysees and “Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honre” where many haute couture shops are located. Whatever the traveler in you wishes to explore, the city of lights does not disappoint. Be it art, culture, or cuisine. The best time of the year is spring and mid-fall if you want to avoid the peak tourist season in summer.

Cape Town, South Africa

Capetown, located in the southwestern part of South Africa has one of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in Africa, if not the world.  Visitors take in the views at the iconic Table Mountain, or rolling hills of Winelands. Separated from the rest of the continent by a ring of mountains, Capetown may be the most cosmopolitan city in South Africa. With beautiful beaches to explore and a  blend of cultures that contribute to the city’s fabric, there is a multitude of vibrant restaurants and thriving nightlife to explore while visiting. Wine lovers can’t miss the Cape Winelands regions just outside of Capetown,  it is home to some of the best-tasting wine experiences in the world. Let us not forget Cape Town is rich in history, from the early days of exploration and colonization to the struggle for freedom, visitors can explore the city’s history by visiting sites such as the Castle of Good Hope, Robben Island, and the District Six Museum. There is much to do in this great town and major U.S cities now offer direct flights!

Antarctica

Home to some of the most spectacular landscapes on Earth. From towering glaciers to snow-covered mountains, the natural beauty of Antarctica may leave you speechless. The wide variety of wildlife including penguins, seals, Wales, and seabirds are all great reasons to visit as the opportunity to see them is plentiful. Antarctica offers a true sense of adventure from kayaking among the icebergs to campaigning out in the wilderness, this is one vacation that welcomes you to step out of your comfort zone.

Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos is a beautiful Greek island world famous for its party scene and open-mindedness, but there is so much more to check out on this tiny island in the Aegean Sea.  Delicious Greek cuisine is a must try and there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from. Try some traditional dishes or tasty some fresh seafood! After taking a walk along the picturesque towns take in the unique architecture.  Traditional white-washed buildings with blue root tops, lovely little churches, and chapels to visit too. Known for its shopping Mykonos is known as a great place to pick up traditional Greek ceramics and jewelry. You can also pick up some high-end accessories at any of its designer shops from both local and international designers.

Aruba

An escape to the Caribbean is always a great idea so what better than the small island of Aruba? Known for its year-round warm weather, beautiful beaches and clear blue waters it’s home to some of the most pristine beaches in the world. Steps from the ocean you will find a diverse culinary scene influenced by its melting pot of cultures that call this island home. Rich in cultural heritage with influences from both indigenous tribes and European colonizers, visitors can explore landmarks such as the California Lighthouse, Gold Mill Ruins, and the Casibari Rock Formation. Offers a wide variety of activities from waterspouts and beach activities to horseback riding, hiking, or hitting the casinos and enjoying the nightlife.

Costa Rica

Home to lush rainforest and the famous Manuel Antonio and Corcovado National Park, where visitors can experience monkeys, sloths, toucans, and a wide variety of other tropical wildlife.  A destination that offers a wide range of activities such as white water rafting, surfing, zip lining, and hiking, adventures are everywhere. Costa Rica has a strong focus on sustainability and the environment and has made great strides in protecting its natural national resources, meanwhile promoting eco-tourism. Visitors are encouraged to embrace the  “Pura Vida” mentality that locals embody.
