Steps To Becoming the Best Version Of Yourself

The journey to becoming the best version of yourself is one of great satisfaction to self-actualization. It’s the loving act of giving yourself permission to get critical with your life so that your well-being and happiness always lead your way. Becoming the best version of yourself happens every day when you take the time to optimize the areas of your life that get you closer to who you want to be. One of the first steps starts with crafting your vision.  Not your parents, wife, husband, or society’s vision. YOUR VISION. Without crafting a vision it’s hard to create the life you want to live.

Get To Know Yourself, Self-Awareness

To craft a vision requires some inner work. Before you can build the best version of yourself it’s critical to take the time to uncover what components make up your foundation.  What are your core values, interest, passions, etc? Answering these questions guides your way to becoming your best self.

What do you stand for? Who is it you want to be? What do you want out of life? What are your core values that shape who you are? What are your strengths and weaknesses?  What is it that makes you come alive?  What is your ideal self-image, and who is it you want to be? What is that mental picture we have of ourselves look like? These are all questions that you need take to be thinking about on the path to self-actualization.   Take the time to tune in with who you really are understanding and accepting all parts of yourself (including any perceived flaws) and what makes you happy.  Life will require that we operate from a firm foundation and operate towards our ideal self-image of who we want to become, and not be driven by past experiences that have made us who we are.

Change Your Self Perception, Self-Assessment 

Sharing a little secret, by changing your self-perception you can change your life. Now that you figured out the foundation it’s time to identify how you see yourself. Time for a self-esteem audit.  And the time to recognize how other people’s views of you,  have shaped your own self-perception. If your current self-perception is not serving you in the ways that help you move towards your best self, it’s time to work on improving how you see and feel about yourself. Only you are capable of transforming your self-perception. You do this by incorporating daily practices that allow you to let go of the little things. Instead, tap into your hidden potential to become the best version of yourself.

Crafting Your Ideal Self  Vision Statement 

The image of your ideal self plays a significant role in the success you achieve in life and directly affects your happiness and overall sense of wellbeing. Just as a compass helps steer the direction of a ship, crafting your vision statement based on your ideal self allows you to constantly focus on becoming the best version of who you want to be.  The intent is to use your vision statement to guide you in taking daily action leaning on your own strengths and aspirations in life. When you feel that things are not going your way, checking back with your vision statement is a great way to ensure you are always aligned with getting closer to who you want to be. And if you are not, it’s okay! Every day we have the opportunity to reset and try again.
