ONLY YOU CAN PUT THE WORK IN NEEDED TO ACHIEVE YOUR LIFE GOALS
The fall season is always an exciting one as the cool breeze sweeps in and the leaves start to change in colors. For many working parents, myself included, it is also prime time for calendar coordination and managing everyone’s expectations in order to get through the rest of the year and finish 2021 hopefully hiccup-free. Here I share with you some tips to help keep you stay on track towards your goals and help you finish out the year strong!
Tip # 1 CREATE A SYSTEM THAT WORKS FOR YOUR LIFE PLAN
As a working wife and mom of two teenagers, trust me when I say I’m right there with you when that overwhelming feeling hits and you think to yourself, F* !! How am I going to do all THIS? And by THIS, I mean managing and directing everything that comes in and with your life’s ship. So, first things first. Breathe, and remember what a badass YOU are and that YOU got this! One of life’s many secrets is staying consistently organized and creating systems that allow you to move forward a little bit at a time towards your bigger life goals. That’s the key to staying sane and actually getting shit done. You can’t bite off more than you can chew so best to take a little bit at a time and work in ways that best suit you. Apply this to all aspects of your life, from simple things like your morning routine to things like meal planning or even more complex things such as fiancees. Bottom line the system needs to work for you and nobody else.
TIP #2 TAKE INVENTORY OF HOW YOU SPEND YOUR TIME
Take inventory of all the actions and things you need to get done in a day. In reality, taking inventory of how you spend your time. Now organize and group these things based on your goals and priorities. Are you on track? If not, work out or rewrite your plan and create a system and routine that works with achieving your goals based on YOUR priority list. This is the only way to really keep you on track. Plus it helps you knock out the smaller goals one at a time towards those bigger goals. How you choose to spend your time is reflected in the lifestyle you currently live. To reach the lifestyle in your dreams you need to re-evaulate your time and adjust it accordigly to acheive the lifestyle you want to lead.
TIP # 3 BE CONSISTENT WITH EVERY ASPECT OF ACHIEVING YOUR DREAMS
Being consistent is the shit. Yep, when you are consistent with something you move closer to your bigger goals and dreams. That something can be any goal you want to achieve. That can be your career, starting a family, school, losing weight, whatever it is, just be consistent about what you want to do and you will make it happen. Your first step is identifying what want to be more consistent with. As an example, and in my current case, I wanted to share my writings and thoughts with the world, hence why I started to blog. By consistently writing and posting on my blog I not only keep myself motivated but also accountable to you, my audience. By doing so I get closer every day to one of my bigger life goals and dreams, and so can you!
TIP # 4 STAY ON TRACK WITH YOUR PLANS AND GOALS
Whatever you currently do, you always need to be analyzing and asking, How can I do it better? Careful planning on how to achieve your goals is great and essential. But sometimes, things don’t work out as planned and one needs to be realistic that sometimes shit happens. Life has a lot of things going on, many unknowns and intangibles come into the picture. So staying on track with goals is important and for work to actually get done. Goals need to be within a deadline and be time-bound, if not what’s the point? Now, it’s normal to struggle in this area or hard to get started sometimes towards one goals, but get started. Progress is progress no matter how slow. Truth is that getting motivated and staying on track takes work that only you can put in. As the saying goes, the going gets tough, but know that tough times are are a temporary phase, keep pushing through. Remind yourself what it is you are working towards and don’t lose sight of your end goal when the road gets tough.
